The Junkluggers was founded in 2004 with one simple objective, to help home and business owners remove unwanted junk from their property while also helping the environment and the community. To this end, The Junkluggers of the Lower Hudson Valley is an eco friendly junk removal company committed to helping customers, the environment, and the community.

Far, far too much reusable waste is dumped into landfills every year, and it is our ambitious goal to keep 100% of the reusable junk we remove out of landfills by 2025. That's why we'll donate, upcycle, and recycle every item that we can. In particular, we work with a large network of local charities and focus on donating first to ensure as many items as possible go to help those in need. We can even provide you with the tax deductible receipt!

Michael Gorman grew up in Dix Hills, Long Island and attended the University of Michigan where he received his Bachelor's degree in communications. Mike started his career at one of the largest marketing agencies in Manhattan and spent the next fifteen years launching new products to market for Fortune 100 companies.

Having always had an entrepreneurial spirit and wanting to put his stamp on a company of his own, Mike opened The Junkluggers of Northern New Jersey franchise, an eco-friendly junk removal business which makes a difference in his community and directly gives back to people in need while having a focus on the environment.

"There is nothing more important to me than developing long standing business partnerships," says Mike and, with his experience cultivating relationships and new business, and ability to develop a robust marketing plan that integrates all areas of advertising, Mike is positioned to successfully lead his Junkluggers business for many years to come.

In his free time, Mike enjoys following his favorite NY teams - Jets, Knicks and Mets - as well as the University of Michigan athletics, but mostly likes spending time with his wife and two young children.

Gabriel Hakim grew up in Bergen County, NJ. From a young age, he had a fascination with junk, often going around on "junk day" to see what treasures he could find. Gabriel studied at Tulane University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Management and Finance, and then spent several years in Business Development and Operations roles where he honed his critical thinking and problem solving skills. He then joined his father as a franchisee at Worldwide Express, a third party logistics provider, but knew he eventually wanted the freedom of owning his own business.

So, in 2018, Gabriel combined his sales and customer service experience with his long-time fascination with junk to become the co-owner of The Junkluggers of Northern New Jersey franchise, an eco-friendly business. His goal is to help his local community by providing good jobs and to bring the junk removal business to the 21st century. When not busy with his lugging business, Gabriel fulfills two other very important roles...volunteer firefighter and father to two amazing boys!
